Hello there, I’m Catherine Glasser. I’m British and first moved to Florence over 20 years ago, to study the History of Art. I found it quite magical to be discussing a painting in a classroom in the morning…then in the afternoon, to stroll around a corner to look at the original. I love the place even more now than when I first arrived here; the better one gets to know this city, the more hidden treasures one finds, out of sight of the usual tourist haunts. In 1992, I started this business, initially with a few select pieces at antiques fairs. Now, ‘Arti Decorative Antiquariato’ is a well respected part of the vibrant Florentine antiques community and I import antique silverware from all over Europe, as well as sourcing local Italian items.
